Let your beauty shine

Right now, your beauty is being buried alive. Layers of dirt and old, dead skin clutter the surface of your face, making it appear dull and enhancing the signs of facial aging. At our plastic surgery clinic and medspa, our New Jersey VI Peels can clear away all the facial debris that prevents the world from seeing the true and beautiful you.

What is VI Peel?

Developed by Vitality Institute Aesthetics, the VI Peel is a medium-strength chemical peel that uses a chemical blend to gently remove the epidermis (outer layer of the skin) and top layer of the dermis.

These outer layers of the skin take a beating over time, locking in damage from the sun, acne scars, dirt, and other signs of aging (including fine lines and wrinkles). By removing these layers, the VI Peel lets the younger, healthier skin beneath the epidermis rise to the surface, promoting better skin health.

What are the benefits of the VI Peel?

Once you get rid of the dry, old skin weighing down your face, youā€™ll begin to notice how radiant you look.

VI Peel treatments can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, discolorations, acne scars, and oily skin with large pores. The treatment is particularly effective at reducing acne damage and treating oily, acne-prone skin. Unlike other chemical peels, the VI Peel uses a unique combination of retinoic acid, phenol, vitamin C, salicylic acid, and trichloroacetic acid (TCA). By combining all of these chemicals, the VI Peel offers more noticeable results with less downtime than other peels that include one or two of these ingredients.

Am I a good candidate for a
VI Peel?

The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel, and as such, it is only available from medical professionals like the ones at New Jersey Plastic Surgery.

During your consultation for your VI Peel New Jersey cosmetic experts at NJPS will review your medical history and determine any reasons why you would not be a good candidate for treatment. Most healthy adults are good candidates for a VI Peel. Side effects from the VI Peel are rare, and the procedure is generally considered safe. The most common side effects of the VI Peel are temporary changes in skin pigmentation, which usually resolve on their own. Your provider will go over all of the risks of VI Peel during your consultation and how to properly minimize them through preparation and recovery plans.

The VI Peel Procedure

The VI Peel process is relatively quick and straightforward. The entire treatment usually takes less than 30 minutes. We start by cleaning the face with acetone to remove built-up grime and oils.

Then, we gently brush on the VI Peel, taking care to avoid sensitive areas like the eyes. You may feel a tingling or mild burning sensation during this process, but it fades shortly after application. Following application, youā€™ll see the skin start to change color in areas where the most peeling will happen. Weā€™ll apply sunscreen and skincare products to protect your skin during the peeling process and ensure you get the best results. Youā€™ll also get a take-home kit with towelettes to use over the next few days as part of your aftercare.

VI Peel Recovery

At New Jersey Plastic Surgery, VI Peel patients receive detailed instructions on recovery to make sure they follow their recovery plans and get great results.

It will take two to three days following your treatment for your skin to peel. Once the peeling begins, it will take about a week to complete. The process is not painful and resembles peeling skin after a sunburn. We recommend taking a few days off and avoiding social situations for at least three days after your VI Peel so you can focus on your recovery.

VI Peel Results

As the old skin leaves and your new skin appears, youā€™ll see a more vibrant, youthful complexion begin to emerge. While you will see results after your first peel, our medical experts may recommend a series of peels, depending on the results you want to achieve. The results should last for several months after your peel, and you can extend them through proper skin care and protection.
